From the bedroom to the bathroom, get every room ready for Christmas guests.
Isn’t it funny how the most wonderful time of the year always comes around again much faster than we expect?
Before you know it, the house will be full to bursting with friends, family, food, and laughter. If you’ve got people staying with you during the holiday season, we’ve got the guide you need. From the guest bedroom to the bathroom and a magical space for the kids, here’s how to make your special guests feel right at home — while capturing the magic and excitement of the season we love so much.
Is there anything better than your home abuzz with your favourite people? You’re going to need somewhere for them all to sleep – or nap after a big lunch. While roaring fires and cosy plaid blankets are nowhere in sight during a summer Christmas, we can still warm hearts with a summery take on familiar Christmas comforts. Embrace a bright and merry mix of pared-back holiday decor with a fresh palette that will see your all-important guest bedroom through every season.
Now’s the perfect time to upgrade your bedlinen. Breezy Vintage Washed Linen in a subtle check adds a touch of festivity without going all-out Christmas. Together with cool white linen sheets, extra pillows for height and a soft blanket at the foot of the bed, you’ll perfectly capture that calming hotel feel at home. Reduce clutter, leaving space on the bedside table and room in the wardrobe. There’s no need to reserve the decorations for your main rooms – bringing in a simple wreath or a little sparkle makes all the difference.
Create a welcoming oasis with scent. We love to wash our guest bedlinen and towels with Aroma Wash, and to spritz the fresh laundry with matching linen spray. A consistent fragrance will make their whole space feel clean and homey.
Carry through the hotel feeling from the bedroom to the bathroom, with a neutral palette and special festive touches. First, your guests absolutely deserve fresh new towels. The fluffier the better, with matching hand towels and face washers for a welcoming touch. Clear out your personal belongings and deck your vanity with a seasonal garland or a holiday-themed candle – Christmas Gingerbread or Festive Spice are obvious choices.
If you have kids visiting for the big day, you’ll need a place for the littlest ones to nap, play and chill out between all the fun and festivities. Whether it’s your spare room or your study, take them to a place of magic and wonder with cute and cuddly pieces you can easily add or remove as needed. Choose a new quilt cover in their favourite colour and pop a handy night light on the bedside table. Watch them light up when they see their room trimmed with Christmas ornaments, decorations and their very own Santa sack waiting at the foot of the bed.
