We’ve teamed up with interior stylist Kerrie-Ann Jones to show us how to style kid’s bedrooms focusing on a theme. Follow these three easy steps, finishing off with a statement artwork to match your theme and voila!
We’ve chosen a native Australiana theme however you can pick any theme you like – think favourite colours, characters or animals. Start with bedlinen as the focal point since this makes it easy to choose accessories that match the bedlinen’s colours and prints.
It’s inevitable that your kids’ room will have lots of stuff and there’s a good chance that you won’t be able to store things away neatly for long. Large shelves that can store practically everything are an easy solution. Here, we mix and match ways to stack items, so it gives you an effortlessly neat look.
Add the finishing touch to the room by adding a statement piece of art that complements the theme. This can be placed above the bed to be the focal centrepiece, or on any blank wall in your room.
